Retrofit is the modification of existing machines to allow them to accept high (HPC) and ultra high (UHPC) pressures. Being able to run a machine at high / ultra high pressure enables higher cutting data (i.e. speeds and feed rates), longer tool life, and better chip control, thereby reducing manufacturing costs. This technology is beneficial on all materials, in particular stainless steel, as well as all nimonics.
In each case a full machine survey is carried out by trained Pumps and Equipment staff, and includes a risk assessment and method statement covering the machines ability to accept the new technology. This may also include liason with the machine manufacturer.
Pumps and Equipment have a wealth of experience and solutions to convert most machine tools to accept HPC and UHPC coolant. With the utilisation of their in-house design and manufacture facility, full turnkey solutions are produced and pressure tested prior to installation.
Manufactured
items include high pressure rotary adaptors, retrofit plunger assemblies, and special external nozzle systems.
Pumps and Equipment also utilise (in conjuction with Seco Tools) the Seco JETSTREAM TOOLINGTM system, cartridge shown below. P&E manufacture back end tool holders to suit your requirements, i.e. CAPTO C5, VDI, and standard tool shanks.
All inserts are ISO standard sizes.
